Pot of Gold is coming soon!
Once again we’re embarking on a fun-filled service auction to raise money
for our church. The actual auction is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14,
where bids will be finalized during the delicious meal served by the Grab and
Grow Café crew. But first, we need your help! Please complete the auction
contract forms (found in your mail, the Gathering Area, and online at the
church website) with any service you might offer for bidding.
We already have an impressive list of new items that will be offered this
year: Group physical training for 5 for 4 weeks, notary services for a year,
a “Paint-N-Party” to create a painted canvas suitable for hanging in your
home, and a meal for all seasons (where meals will be delivered to your home
throughout the year). Popular items from last year that are being offered
again: handyman for a day or half day, a week at Hilton Head, dinner at the
Peep, preparing your flower beds for spring planting, 8 Boston butts, sweets
for all seasons, preparation of a will or power of attorney, daily prayer for
you and yours for a year, dinner delivered to your door, Starbucks delivered
to your office or home, transportation to and from the airport in Nashville.
Obviously, you may add any item that sounds fun to you. Please list the
estimated value of this service. State if it is per person, per family, per dish,
per lesson, per series of six lessons, etc. Also note the maximum number of
people, ages, materials required, etc. If you are willing to donate your offer
more than once, please state this. Where applicable, please provide dates or
ranges of dates (“a weekend in June or July”). Certainly, offerings can be any
time through 2012. Any specific information will be helpful. The possibilities
are limitless!
To be successful, we need lots of donor items and bidders. Last year we
raised almost $8000!
Once you’ve submitted an auction item (by Sunday, February 19, PLEASE!),
we’ll compile a list that will be available on the church website, in the Gathering
Area, and at all worship services until the event on March 14. The Grab and
Grow Café will offer a special St. Patty’s Day menu, and the fun will begin.
