Mother's Day Out

Mother's Day Out (MDO) is a ministry of Hopkinsville FUMC for over 30 years. Although each new year brings change to our program, the purposes remain the same:

We strive to provide socialization and age-appropriate learning experiences for our youngest children in a loving, Christian atmosphere.
At the same time, we are offering moms or other caregivers a few hours to tend to their needs.

Ages : Child must be 16 months of age on or before

October 1, 2011 thru the age of 36 months old

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 am-Noon

Fall MDO begins August 30-December 15, 2011

MDO follows the Nursery School/Kindergarten school schedule for

holidays and school closings.

A safe environment is very important to us. We abide by the UMC Safe Sanctuary policy, whereby at least two adults will be with the children at all times during MDO. All caregivers have had background screenings, CPR training and on-going child development training. MDO uses the Wee Learn curriculum for Toddlers and Twos.

Developmentally appropriate activities include:

Outside Play on our toddler/twos playground (Indoor Play during cold or inclement weather)
Art
Circle/Group Time: finger plays, songs, stories, conversation, music and dancing
Prayer and Snack (provided by MDO unless child brings own snack)
Self-directed Play
Rest Time
Limited Video Time

8:00 - 8:30 Self-directed play

8:30 - 9:00 Creative Play (art/music)

9:00 - 9:20 Prayer/snack time

9:20-9:50 Motor development/Outdoor Play (weather

permitting)

10:00-10:30 Circle Time

10:45 - 11:00 Self-directed play

11:00 - 11:30 Lunch (parent provided)

11:30 - 12:00 Story Time/clean up

The program is available to Hopkinsville FUMC children and also to community children. If space is available, any child may attend from the age of 16 months to 36 months. Children of FUMC members and attendees will be given first priority for reserved spaces. Any additional reserved spaces will be made available to community children.

Parents must complete an application form (available in the office, MDO room) before a child may attend.

Reserved Spaces

There are reserved spaces available each day. Reserved spaces are for the same day each week.

- One day a week: $65/month

- Two days a week: $110/month

-Three days a week: $155/month

Payment is due the first week of each month.

Drop-Ins (if space is available)

$25/day; Payment is due when you pick up your child. Please sign up in advance and space is limited.
